Five cases of patients with pleural effusion were evaluated by the grey-scale ultrasonography. Ultrasonographyof pleural effusion in each case was represented as fluid accumulation within the pleural cavity with anechoiccrescent moon shape or saddle appearance marginated by diaphragm. Ptosis of the liver with demonstrable rightdiaphragm was assessment in the severe right pleural effusion. it is emphasized that the practical advantages ofthe ultrasonographic approach were notable both in establishing diagnosis and in treatment of pleural effusion, with special regarding of noninvasiveness particularly in the women of pregnancy, of staging in the patient withmalignant lymphoma, and of safety in a subsequent thoracentesis under the ultrasonographic guidance. |
