Lactating adenoma is a benign breast disease that occurs during pregnancy or lactational
periods. Here we report on a case of rapidly enlarging lactating adenoma in a
28-year-old postpartum woman, which was mistaken for a malignant breast tumor.
Treatment with bromocriptine resulted in a rapid reduction of the mass, suggesting
that bromocriptine could be used for shrinking lactating adenoma and to facilitate surgical
removal. We describe its imaging findings, including ultrasonographic findings
with correlative histologic features, confirmed by surgical excision. |
