A subareolar abscess is the most common non-puerperal abscess of the breast.
The main cause of a subareolar abscess is squamous metaplasia, which obstructs
the lactiferous ducts and leads to the stasis of secretions and rupture of the ducts.
However, there are other causes of subareolar abscess formation. |
