Acardiac twin is characterized by the absence or rudimentary development of the fetal heart and associated various
anomalies, especially anencephalus and severe subcutaneous edema or cystic hygroma. On doppler US, reversed
flow through the umbilical cord of the acardiac fetus is charactersitic.
We experienced two cases of acardiac twin gestation diagnosed by antenatal ultrasonography and present these
cases with a brief review of the literatures. |
